Traditions

Traditions are the stories that families write together.

Going to the beach for a walk before breakfast on Christmas Day, taking that Christmas photo and then scurrying home for warmth and a hot breakfast befitting this special day. Opening presents to everyone's delight after the above. That is one of our traditions, we do the same on New Year's day, without the presents but we do have a New Years Day swim in the sea. Once done we really need the warmth of home and a hearty breakfast.

New Year 2020

The words are on the tip of my tongue and I just can not seem to get them out. That has been my case for a number of weeks now. The problem stemmed from nasty spammers who posted comments on my new website. Not commenting on the blogs but trying to sell viagra, dodgy pictures and anything that comes between. I am now trusting Google to be able to stop the bastards until we get a gap in our busy schedule and bulletproof the new website.

Between, Gary, Michael and myself we are converting half of my garage into a Yoga studio, complete with surround sound, internet connection and a specially fitted window, allowing me to glaze into the garden while contemplating what to write next. Will include more photos once it is finished but the window looks good already.

This is a space where I can keep all my books, memorabilia and a photo gallery. The added advantage is the other half of the garage will be my man den, only a little smaller.

Moving on, this COVID 19 pandemic has done some damage, the economy, sport, the arts and my almost daily visit to the coffee shop. Not too sure if I miss the latter anymore. Seems a little wrong to go and sit in a coffee shop with other strangers who could or could not have the bug, I think I am more comfortable without that at the moment and coffee in a cardboard cup has never really appealed to me. I am getting used to wearing a mask when I go shopping, mainly Tesco for food and wine, the essentials. How have you been affected?

One thing that came out of these times was square dancing, yep, Susan and I learnt to square dance. Well, being a natural dancer it did come to me rather quickly and I could show Susan the more difficult steps. That hop, turn sideways and jump. It is very easy and has about 5 moves that you just repeat until the end of the music. Brings me on to the perfect couple, at the core they are the same person, it is those small differences that make their lives rich with new experiences.
