The Quick Step

 Your one wild and precious life sounds grand but then GSP is taking that to a new level, test-driving her new flash power mop. Yes, my fellow readers, this one wild and precious life is taking full advantage of modern technology and lockdown to become familiar with this awesome bit of household equipment. This I might add, in her slippers and tights, oh, no finer sight than her quickstep, mop in tow around the kitchen. There is joy in the simpler tasks.

Started the day with a walk on the beach, well more of a challenge. The rain and wind making this normal pleasure a mammoth effort with the cold rain stinging our faces, the only exposed area I might add. Soaked and feeling self-righteous, we beat a haste retreat for the warmth and comfort of home.

Reminds me of that saying;

When the big things get out of control, focus on what you love, the storm will pass.

It has only been 2 weeks of lockdown and already feels like a long time. I think this will go on for a while, maybe into April or May, sobering thought but then if that feels like a long way away, just take the step, the horizon can sort itself out. My feeling is really with all those who have to play teacher and try and work at the same time, especially with young children. My advice is not to be too hard on yourself, what you are is enough.

This Sunday started with the guys having a swim at Sandbanks and then off to Kingston Lacy for an afternoon walk, something different as opposed to the beach. We were surprised at the number of people there, you have to book and they claim to be limiting the number of entries. Being the National Trust we all kept our social distance and masks adorned, we started with a takeaway coffee and then did the lower perimeter walk. Just great to be out there and Jenson had a good run, did see some interesting tree silhouettes. We did notice the similarity to the tree of life, maybe this is it. On the subject of trees, we did see a tree that looked very much like those Tree people in the last Lord of the Rings film, expected it to start talking. The eye!

Thought I would leave you guys with this message I found on Facebook; Man who walks sideways through airport turnstile is going to Bangkok.
