Mothers Day

Went for a walk at Kingston Lacy with Gary, Claudia and Alex. Robert and Gary discussed the merits of double science and art as likely A level subjects for Mika’s university entrance. Mika is hoping to get into Sheffield University, Glasgow University or UCL (University College London) as a med student in Ophthalmology.  

Watching Alex play, I did realise how quickly time passes. Just over two years ago I took a photo of him and happened to take the same photo yesterday. Cherish the time you have with them, they grow too fast.

As it was Mothers Day we did pay homage to all our mothers. I did have a word with my Mum, missing her in the environment she loved, trees, gardens and daffodils. Rest well, you lived a good life and we still think of you whenever we go to a place filled with trees, birds and flowers.

She once said something on these lines about life; "After you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, conviviality, and so on - have found that none of these finally satisfy - what remains? Nature remains."

We have had another marriage in the family, the second one in the last 6 months. Matthew, Russell's son got married at a small wedding recently. Tamacgor S Bald was particularly sorry to have missed the wedding.  Tamacgor S Bald did comment; “It was such a lovely wedding and I do like a good wedding.”

Matthew, to you and your wife, we wish you years of joy, discovery and happiness. Found this quote by Carl Sandburg and thought it was appropriate.

Harry and Meghan are in the news again, this time they wanted the publicity and it is strange that two people who wanted nothing to do with the press are now colluding with the American press, Oprah and also Netflix to name a few. I have seen her on Movies 24 and she is not the best actress around but hey ho, you must take your hat off to her, she was brought up in a trailer. Being black in America, puts you at a considerable disadvantage and taking into account her up bring and no real role model to look up too, she has turned out to be what she is. 

Piers Morgan said; “If people want to believe Meghan Markle, that's entirely their right.”

"I don't believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth and I think the damage she's done to the British monarchy and to the Queen at a time when Prince Philip is lying in hospital is enormous and frankly contemptible.”

"If I have to fall on my sword for expressing an honestly held opinion about Meghan Markle and that diatribe of bilge that she came out within that interview, so be it."

I tend to agree with him but I am not inclined to fall on my sword. The Queen, who has reigned for almost three-quarters of a century and has maintained a good relationship with the 13 odd prime ministers, other royal families and foreign dignitaries, now has a problem with some minor actress who is on her second marriage, does not speak to her family with the exception of her mother, has had numerous fallouts with friends and peers. Definitely shows traits of being a sociopath and does not get on with the royal household. Difficult call to decide who the problem is here.

My feeling is it will all end in tears for Harry, time will tell. Did someone not inform her that Harry is about 6th in line for the throne and she will never be Queen.
