Edible Plants


On the way back from The Lakes we passed through Tarrant Keyneston, this is a village a few miles after Kingston Lacy, small with a population of 310. In this village is a place Susan went to "Keyneston Mill - Home of Parterre Fragrances". Susan was telling me that you smell and eat edible plants in their cafe. Quite a unique cafe that has been getting rave reviews. How it differs from other cafes I cannot work out, as far as I am aware all cafes and tearooms have cakes and snacks, all made from edible plants. Even Mc Donalds use edible plants, well most of the time. Susan does recommend going and the other unique selling point is that their flowers have great scents, they actually make cosmetics from them. Give it a try when next in Tarrant Keyneston. Reviews are not that great but then if you do not expect too much, you will not be disappointed.


The beauty of a blog is that sometimes I hear a news item worth mentioning, a scoop really. I have been lucky over the years and this is just one of those times. Kate and Michael are expecting, you have heard it here first, yes they are expecting. I just love being able to bring breaking news and this is one of those times. Yes, they are expecting an Alexa Dot with a clock from Amazon for their hallway. Kate has been very vocal concerning Alexa recently but was convinced it was a good buy. Happy times are ahead for the expectant couple, Kate will have an anchor point when she gets up at 5:30 in the morning to go to school and will not have to wake Michael to ask what the time is, truly a win, win.


On another topic close to my heart. I feel the biggest waste of time is arguing with a fool or a fanatic who doesn't care about truth or the facts, but only his beliefs and illusions. Never waste time on discussions that make no sense. There are people who, with all the evidence presented to them, do not have the ability to understand. Others are blinded by ego and the only thing that they want is to be right, even if they aren’t. 

I say when ignorance screams, intelligence moves on.

  1. Ha what a scoop. I still don’t think I’ve quite converted kate to the idea of Alexa’s but they’re still surviving in the flat!
