This Life

I am not sure what it is but I seem to be getting up later and going to bed earlier. Not sure why, but I am swimming every day with Jenson, Michael and Robert, sometimes Gary joins us but not recently. Roberts’s theory is that Gary has decided it is winter and not the time to swim. Bless the boy, he has always felt the cold more than most.

Michael does miss the occasional swim but then he is a busy boy and he has had a cold, he does carry the weight of Australia and the UK on his shoulders. When we all are together, the water is warmer and the sun is brighter, even on those cloudy days, we cherish those moments, they pass too quickly.
Today was one of those days, windy and cloudy but still magic. After that initial drive in the cooling sea, you feel free from the daily drudgery of living and you are tinglingly alive. Jenson dodged the waves and made a play at saving us but to no avail, the waves were too big for that fellow.

Pricilla, Queen of the Desert, writes that the meaning of life can be found in a bottle of wine, she is still looking for that bottle of wine and I think enjoying the journey. I must admit that is a woman with style. Just to let you know in advance, Jason Donovan is launching a comeback with the staging of a new version of Pricilla, Queen of the Desert. Exciting times for our Pricilla and Bruno the Great. I hear airline tickets have already been bought for the opening night. Our Pricilla will not be in the production but has an opening night invitation as an honoured guest.

Russell has moved to Tanzania. He was lucky enough to be able to acquire a grand, 8 bedroomed mansion with a view of a snow-covered mountain in the background. In all fairness, this is closer to his day job, building very expensive safari lodges for those who have money and want a 5-star experience, with African wildlife on their doorstep. South Africa is becoming too unstable and the crime rate is over the top. I think it is a good move and hopefully, he will settle down and enjoy the African plains. With a little luck, he will send us a comment with more detail.

  2. Lovely place Arusha, heart of East Africa Safari world. Close to Mt Kilimanjaro for those who wants to jog up it, we have plenty of place and Mt Meeru for the less energetic. Hour flight to Zanzibar and the tropical beaches of Mombasa. We have lots of parks around us. Serengeti, Masai Mara, Tsavo, Lakes , Craters etc.
