Fraud, Covid 19 and Bathroom Tiles

Update on our career Fraudster

I once said, 'People will help people, just because they people.' Well, I can now amend that statement and say 'Some people will con people, just because they can.'

Brad Clearwick, this is not his real name, seems to have it all. But this self-styled entrepreneur is actually a career con artist who has got away with it for over 15 years. What Brad Clearwick is doing at the moment is a mystery but I would caution any pensioners out there to safeguard your hard-earned pot of money, he will be scheming. This is the same scumbag who took money off us last year while working for another questionable company.

A criminal investigation is currently underway into allegations of fraud and other offences. This investigation has shown there is at least 3 investigation into Brad Clearwick for fraud and theft. The police have combined all the cases and will be issuing a warrant for his arrest shortly. Great news, you might say but that will not get our money back. We have started a civil case and hopefully can get some money back. Let the bailiffs do their work.

Work has started on our home improvements, paint colours discussed and tiles pondered over. Advice sort from the good Lady Vivienne, Claudia of the Middle Smiths and anyone who would listen. The flooring was a much-debated subject, more so than tiles and they did consume many hours of going to and fro. Finally settled on a rather established Manor Oak, high-quality vinyl for the hallway, kitchen and lounge. Grey and white tiles won the day for the bathroom and is being tiled as I write.

Robert has tested positive for Corona Virus and as he is living with us, we are all in isolation until the 20th November, if we do not get ill as well. If so I imagine it is another 14 days. Well, the bright side is Robert I getting on with it and hopefully will be back to his normal self soon and I do not have to socialise! The bad side is the builder has up and left, we have no bathroom and no lounge. Does take the joy out of a good shower when you have to wash in the kitchen basin. 8 days to go and we will be through the other side. What about the tiles you may ask? Almost done but still need grouting, Vinnie, our tiler, lives with his Nan so decided not to take a chance, wise man.

Gary and Michael have stepped in and are going to do our shopping for us. Jenson does need a daily walk and this is another part of isolation that has side effects.

Changing the subject somewhat, I read an article on endangered foods and was alarmed to see the humble banana is top of the list. All bananas are from one variety, the Cavendish banana. This variety is slowly being wiped out by the devastating Panama fungal disease. I find it hard to believe the growers have put all their bananas in one basket. Let’s hope the scientists come up with an answer or you might have had your last banana.

Talking of food, well cake actually. Has anyone wondered what the fuss is about with a Panettone? Trust the Italians to forget they cooked a cake and find it a week later, dry and hard and then make it a national dish. Just to put the records straight, cake goes dry and hard with age, a Panettone is just any old cake, dry and hard.
