Music’s Loss

I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)

Meatloaf, born Marvin Lee Aday but later changed his name to Michael, Bat Out Of Hell trilogy, which sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

Meatloaf passed away yesterday from Covid, sad as he was only 74, another beautiful person to be taken by this cruel virus. Andrew Lloyd Webber said the heavens would now be rocking. Great artist and one of a kind. Rock, rock, go in peace Meatloaf.

I will leave you with these words from one of his songs;

And somedays I pray for silence?

And somedays I pray for the soul

Somedays I just pray to the God of Sex and Drums and Rock 'N Roll.

This podcast project is a bigger task than initially thought. Gary being his boring self has stated widely that for every 20 minutes of the podcast we publish, we will have to do 200 minutes of editing. Michael has a much more positive approach and wants to just get going and see where it leads us.

It will happen and when it does the world will be grateful and better informed.

This reminds me of a quote by Terry Pratchett; The trouble with having an open mind, of course,  is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

JB is lying on the carpet like some road accident, he does have a presence and fills the room. We are getting ready for Susan birthday party, she is something over 40 and in polite circles a ladies age is never mentioned.

Michael and I collaborated with regards to the cooking, we have split the tasks. Michael will be cooking the burgers and sausages, Kate, as always is crafting a Pavlova, always a favourite but I must say that cake is not for me. Claudia has kindly offered to make a chocolate cake and Pricilla, Queen of the Desert, will be contributing a Lasagne, made in true Italian style. I have a roast pork shoulder, grilled chicken breasts, salad and chips.

We are expecting 16 party animals so it is best to be prepared with enough food to soak up the extraordinary volume of alcohol that will be consumed. I have bought some salami, prosciutto and a pizza. One can never go wrong with a pizza at this type of party.

As Susan definitely said no fuss, we are clocking the party in the disguise of a Friday burger night of which we are so well known. In my next blog, I hope to bring you news, gossip and details of the birthday, until then, keep well.
